Oyo State Governor, Engineer Seyi Makinde, says leaders are vital as they determine the allocation of power and money through governmental policies, establish partnerships with other stakeholders and make decisions that can have major effects on a nation’s well-being and its citizens.
Makinde made the remarks through the Oyo Head of Service, Ololade Agboola, at the Year 2021 Public Service Forum tagged “The millennia public service: Springboard from Poverty to Prosperity” held at Ogunlesi Hall.
Makinde who described public service as one of the agents of development noted that the transformation of any society or system depends on the effectiveness and efficiency of its civil/public service.

While delivering her lecture on the topic: The Millennia Public Service : Springboard From Poverty to Prosperity, the guest speaker Joan Ayo, said while other nations have mastered their core values to develop a state-of-the art public service in terms of the enabling environment, the Nigerian public service is still grappling with identity crisis.
In her welcome address, the Oyo state Head of Service, Ololade Agboola, noted that the forum is organized to contribute to the development of institutional, human and technological capacities of public sector and civil/public servants.
