Oyo State Government has begun a three-day training workshop on conflict management for local governments’ principal officials.
The workshop organised by the State Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters is aiming to address some of the major challenges hindering smooth administration of government at the grassroots.
Declaring the workshop open in Ibadan, Commissioner for Local Government, Chief Bayo Lawal, said the workshop is designed to find lasting solutions to various internal crises retarding developments across the councils.
Chief Bayo Lawal speaks further about the workshop themed, “Conflict management, a veritable tool to attain sustainable transformation agenda at the grassroots”.
Two guest lecturers, Professor Albert Olawale of the Institute for Peace and Strategic Studies, University of Ibadan and Professor Yisa Yusuf, Department of English, are expected to deliver papers at the workshop.
