The first trilingual radio station in Nigeria, Space90.1FM Ibadan (Space Network), was hit by the afternoon rainstorm which occurred at about 4pm on Saturday.
The winds affected the mast and antenna making live broadcast impossible. According to the media consultant of Space Network, Demola Sanyaolu, the antenna was already in the process of replacement and upgrade as announced by the station earlier in April. It was part of the renovation and upgrade itinerary of the station.
Space90.1FM customers and radio listeners have been advised to switch to our online broadcast on www.thespacefm.com in order to stay in touch with all our exciting programs and advert placements. Other media channels of the station, including AfrospaceTV, Facebook, Instagram and twitter will be fully operational.
Engineers are on site to remedy the situation and restore broadcasting services shortly. All personnel of the station were safely evacuated so no injuries.
